Municipal Work Request Guidelines – Cartwright-Roblin Municipality

To request municipal services, please complete and submit the fillable form below. Services may include, but are not limited to:

  • Road, trail, street, or back lane maintenance (e.g., blading, additional gravel, pothole repairs, snow clearing, ice sanding)
  • New approach construction, additional gravel, or widening of existing approaches
  • Installation or re-installation of civic address and traffic signs
  • Cemetery maintenance
  • Tree removal or trimming for safe traffic visibility
  • Beaver control at culverts and roads
  • Parks maintenance or repairs
  • Noxious weed reporting
  • Private work (e.g., lane or parking lot maintenance, off-season access to bins or pastures)
  • Water Control Works (e.g., culverts, ditching, dams/gates) — after contacting the Water Control Officer
  • Other municipal work

Please complete the fillable form below with as much detail as possible. This helps ensure your request is clearly understood and can be processed efficiently.

Submitted forms are automatically forwarded to Public Works and Administration, and will be reviewed at the next Council meeting, typically held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. Applicants will be contacted by Public Works if any costs will be invoiced.


General Requirements

  • All municipal ditch, road, street, or back lane work requires prior approval from the municipality.
  • Provide plenty of detail to ensure your request is clearly understood.

Rural Lane Blade Requests

Must include:

  • Civic address
  • Applicant's daytime phone number

Approach Work Requests

Must include:

  • Confirmation of whether a new culvert is requested
  • An aerial image, Google Maps screenshot, or hand-drawn sketch showing:
    • Existing approaches within the half-mile
    • Specific location of the proposed approach

Water Control Work Requirements

Water Control Works—including temporary or permanent water drainage, culverts, dams, ditch re-shaping, etc.—must first be filed with Manitoba Environment & Climate Change (formerly MB Water Stewardship) before submitting a municipal work request or request for municipal consent.
